The knowledge accumulated with the method of engineering-geological monitoring used for a long period of time was used during the work on the project.
Results. The study of archival materials and experience gained in the process of long-term monitoring of the implemented facilities in the territory of the former CIS countries made it possible to find a solution for arranging slag storage at the site of former sludge collector with a slight loss of the originally planned volume.
Originality. The unsatisfactory results of analytical calculations were revised considering the forces and connections acting in the soil mass on the basis of the experience of projects successfully implemented before, followed by many years of engineering and geological monitoring.
Practical implications. Based solely on the data of analytical calculations, the arrangement of slag storage facilities in the existing geological and hydrogeological conditions would be impossible. An unconventional approach made it possible to find a design solution without changing the site for the designed construction.</p>}, number={1}, journal={Metallurgical and Ore Mining Industry}, author={Golovko, Valentin and Papusha, Tatiana and Kozarinsky, Ilya and Shcherbakov, Alexander}, year={2021}, month={Mar.}, pages={30-35} }
